Equine Assisted Therapy
The Barn offers Equine Assisted Therapy Services led by licensed mental health providers, and works in partnership with The Family Therapy Place. Equine assisted therapy has been successful with a wide range of ages and a variety of topics from personal growth, trauma, attachment, anxiety, social skills, and many more challenges individuals or groups are facing. Like traditional therapy, the goal is to help clients identify issues and develop solutions.
Our licensed therapists also provide one-on-one sessions as well as group sessions such as a women’s group and a “herd meditation.”
“The clients that I work with have suffered significant trauma due to abuse or neglect within a relationship. We heal this brokenness by connecting and learning how to be safe in relationships. Horses provide and honest and safe support system for people to learn how to repair and find depth of connection again. I choose to work at the barn for equine learning because the level of ethical relational horsemanship that is taught is the container that people need in order to find safe healing. This partnership has been life changing for many couples, families and individuals.”
